Weekend in Orillia

It began with disappointment...Friday night I was cast aside for budgets but he redeemed himself on Saturday when we drove north of Toronto to Orillia, Casino Rama, for the Peter & Gordon show. Remember them? (Please lock me away, Lady Godiva, Knight in Rusty Armor etc) I loved their hamonies in the late 60:s and early 70's.

We enjoyed a leisurely drive, stopping to see things of interest, finally arriving at the Stonegate Inn in time to check in and enjoy a glass of wine in the jacuzzi before dinner at La Mezzaluna (see my review) and show. Service at the inn was warm and friendly, there was a fireplace in the room, two spa robes and new comfy slippers, turndown service in the early evening etc. I knew this was going to be a nice weekend!

We had dinner at La Mezzaluna (see my review) and then drove over to Casino Rama for the show. I never gamble, not even slots, but enjoyed the excitement of the casino. I watched people loose large amounts of money and marveled that this was entertainment. Oh well . . . chacun à son goût.

Leaving the hotel on Sunday morning was when I had the alleric reaction then slept all the way home because of antihistamines. In spite of that, it was a great weekend.
