Before Christmas I had a telephone call from the Heart & Stroke Foundation asking if I would be willing to canvas in my area. I said sure, they said someone would contact me before the campaign. My package arrived a couple of weeks ago...the campaign begins February 1.
What did I get myself in to? It is dark when get home from work. It is cold out. It isn't going to warm up until May. Couldn't we do this in May?
No, I suppose not. Actually, February being the month of Valentine's Day is a good time. I will probably blitz the neighbourhood on weekends during the day.
I am doing this in memory of a friend I really liked. She died rather unexpectedly from a massive stroke last October. I had lunch with her the day before her stroke and she looked wonderful. I took this picture of her at the restaurant.
